My favorite oils for:
Coughing: Ravensara is amazing! I love to take a few drops and rub it over the chest area followed by the Ruru cream. Repeat as often as needed. If you stop coughing for 15 minutes but then start again, repeat the application until coughing is no longer an issue.
Fevers: Ravensara and Euclayptus diffused, tea tree every 15 minutes under your arm until you feel better. Repeat as often as needed.
Congestion: My favorite one is to diffuse 30 drops EACH of euclayptus, tea tree, ravensara, and 10 drops peppermint in a closed room like a bedroom. I can go to bed congested and wake up completely clear the next morning with this blend while being able to sleep all night in my bed instead of having to sleep upright in a recliner. If conjestion is severe, I'll rub peppermint and ruru on the sides of my neck and UNDER the cheekbone (to keep it out of the eyes!) to help things start to drain.
Flu: Eucalyptus is the oil of choose when the flu bug strikes. Plus, did you know that germs spread through the laundry? I love to put 2-3 drops of eucalyptus and lemon on a old rag (to prevent staining) and throw it in with the wash. This helps to kill germs and gives your laundry a lovely aroma!
PLEASE NOTE: Pets are very sensitive to essential oils, espeically when used in a closed room. Do not use this strategy if you have a dog or cat sleeping with you. Birds are very, very sensitive to oils as well.
